Our work helps young people to succeed. We deliver programmes in partnership with schools, universities, businesses and charities, giving young people access to support networks, online careers information and high-quality mentoring. We believe young people are best equipped to make confident and informed decisions about their futures if they:
- Have hope and a growth mindset;
- Are confident and know their strengths;
- Can deal with difficulties in a positive way;
- Have knowledge and skills for the career they are interested in;
- Know who to turn to for advice and support.
Our programmes include a wide variety of online mentoring projects, an active and growing volunteer network and our newest ventures: the Brightside Schools Network, National Programmes & Virtual Work Experience. We have developed these programmes to help young people navigate key transition points and so they have wide-ranging objectives including providing insight into careers, supporting post-18 career & education choices, raising aspirations, and preparing young people to succeed in Higher Education. We believe all young people should have access to the same opportunities, no matter where they live and we strive to support those who need it most.
We are looking to attract brilliant people to help us achieve our ambitions to grow our impact and reach even more young people each year.
It is an exciting time to join Brightside. We are a fast-moving charity and we pride ourselves on our friendly, professional and supportive culture. We embrace new ideas and celebrate the talent and contribution of all team members.
As an organisation, we have five values that we commit to as individuals and as a team:
Brightside is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community where everyone can be themselves and succeed in the workplace and beyond. Our culture is inclusive and supportive to staff from all backgrounds and we provide flexible policies to cater for the differing needs of all staff.
